How-To: Mermaid Nails

It is not as new anymore, but still very popular; we are talking about mermaid powder for nails! Those powders, applied on top of a colored polish, give a mettalic and mesmerizing effect to the nails, an effect that ressemble mermaid tales. Here is a tutorial by Luciana McGee, that shows how you can use mermaid powders on an acrylic base.

How to apply mermaid powders

What you need

• Mermaid powder: blue and purple
• Mermaid pwder: red and purple
• Black polish, regular or UV or an acrylic base
• Base coat
• Top coat

Application step with regular polish

1. Apply your base coat
2. Apply one or two layers of your black polish and let dry
3. Apply the powder using the tool that comes with it (looks like an eyeshadow tool). You have to put apply the powder with a bit of pressure.
4. Once the nail is covered with the powder, apply your top coat and let dry.
