Essentials for starting with gel

Are you new to gel nails and unsure which products to prioritize? This guide is for you! This article explains the purpose of each product in gel nail application and how to create gel nails using Perfection UV gel.
The Base
It's important to always apply a base coat before applying gel for optimal adhesion. Adher+ is the ideal product to ensure your gel overlay adheres well. We also suggest using pH control beforehand to dehydrate the nail plate.
Apply a thin layer to the prepared natural nail, being careful not to touch the skin. Cure for 30 seconds under an 18W LED lamp or for 1 minute under a 36W UV lamp, then remove excess with a dry brush. Then proceed with the regular steps of a UV gel application.
Brushes
To properly apply the gel, you will need different brushes. These will be used to manipulate the gel on the nail surface during application.
Perfection 1-Step Gel or Sculpt Gel
Perfection 1-Step UV Gel is a clear, medium-viscosity UV gel that can be used as a base coat, a glossy top coat, and a builder gel. It is self-leveling and non-yellowing.
Instructions for Perfection UV Gels:
- Apply 1 coat of ADHER+ UV PRIMER (cure for 1 minute under a 36W UV lamp)
- Wipe the nail with a clean brush or lint-free wipe
- Apply your choice of Perfection CLEAR SCULPT, ONE STEP, or ROSE SCULPT gel
(cure for 2 minutes under a minimum 36W UV lamp) - Repeat steps 2 and 3 to achieve the desired shape
- Remove the sticky layer with a lint-free wipe and Perfect Cleaner
- File your nails to get a smooth surface and remove dust
- Apply 1 coat of Brillance Parfaite or Fini-Plus and cure under the lamp.
Perfect Gel Perfection Cleaner
Once cured, the gel overlay may have sticky residue.
Perfect Cleaner is used to remove this sticky effect and residue once the gel is cured under the lamp. It is important to do this step before filing the overlay using a lint-free wipe.
Gel polish colors or VFP
What would a nail application be without a touch of color!
Have fun with the colors of your choice by creating nails in your own image. We suggest using Shellac or Gelish brand UV gel polishes for optimal quality. You can also take some One Step gel and mix it with a permanent French polish on a silicone plate.
Top Coat
It is essential to finish your application with a top coat to protect your work. We highly recommend Fini-Plus! It is the most versatile clear top coat, cured under an LED or UV lamp! It is ideal for protecting nail art, and it offers remarkable and long-lasting shine. Plus, it's a no-wipe top coat, so as soon as it comes out of the lamp there's no sticky residue and your application is complete!
UV-LED lamp
As you've seen in the application steps, the gel hardens under the UV-LED lamp. So you must have a UV-LED lamp of at least 36W.
