Resin and Powder Ice Effect

You may have already seen this video by email. This video from our Resin and Powder Ice Effect tutorial is a preview of what awaits you in our nail application training. Nancy, our trainer, explains step-by-step how to create an ice effect with resin and powder. We use "boulette" resins, which are slow-drying resins that allow for gradients and marbled effects.

Products:

Steps:

  1. Apply a base coat of medium resin
  2. Using the liquid "boulette" resin, dip your brush into the dark blue powder to form a small ball, and melt it in small touches on the nail
  3. Repeat in several random places to create a marbled effect. The 3 powder colors will help you achieve a 3D effect.
  4. Repeat with the light blue powder and randomly layer it over the dark blue and the nail. The color should remain translucent to achieve an ice effect.
  5. Then repeat with the ultra-white powder, it will give the impression of ice cracking.
  6. Sprinkle clear powder over the entire nail to add depth to your nail art.
  7. Apply the ultra-liquid "boulette" resin by dabbing it onto the nail.
  8. If you want even more depth, you can add another layer of clear powder and dab again with the ultra-liquid resin to wet the powder.
  9. Apply the hardener spray to the nail to cure the resin. Wait a few seconds for it to harden.
  10. You can repeat on all nails before moving on to the finishing step.
  11. File the surface of the nail to remove all imperfections and bumps.
  12. Use the white sanding block to remove the glossy effect.
  13. Apply a coat of Fini-Plus UV topcoat.
  14. Using a stick, apply some Oh Blush Pearl #5001 glitter powder to give a brighter and more dynamic effect.
  15. Cure for 1 minute under an LED lamp (2 minutes under a UV lamp).
  16. Apply another coat of Fini-Plus and cure again for 1 minute.
