Polygel, comment l'utiliser ? Vidéo complète

Polygel, how to use it? Full video

If you follow beauty news, you've probably heard of Polygel, a new nail application technique, halfway between acrylic and UV gel. Polygel combines the best of UV gel and acrylic: a unique product, no mixing, ready instantly and ultra-fast application. Polygel is resistant, flexible and light on the nail. Polygel does not harden until it has been cured under a UV or LED lamp. Another advantage of Polygel, and not the least, is that it is very economical, as only a very small amount of product is needed to create a nail application. Its slogan: Squeeze, Slice, Roll (Press, Cut, Roll) summarizes the application steps well.

Polygel application steps

Nail preparation

  1. Clean and disinfect your client's hands
  2. Push back cuticles and remove excess cuticles from the nail plate
  3. File the nail to the desired shape
  4. File the nail surface with the 100 grit side of a sanding block to remove shine from the nail and remove dust with a brush.
  5. Apply Nail Surface Cleanse to the nail with a lint-free pad to clean the nail and remove residue
  6. Apply Ph bond
  7. Apply a thin layer of Probond to the natural nail. For refills, apply Probond only to the natural nail, not to the part that already has Polygel

Tip: You can apply Gelish Top it Off top coat to keep the natural nail, without Polygel. The nail will then be more resistant thanks to Gelish Top it Off

Polygel application

Polygel Gelish

  1. Take a tube of Polygel in the desired color; in the video, Polygel Cover Pink is used for the refill because the client already has this color on the nail.
  2. Squeeze the tube to release a small ball of Polygel.
  3. With the Polygel spatula brush, cut the ball.
  4. Then roll the Polygel onto the nail, adhering the spatula to the side of the nail, approximately halfway up the nail, then scrape the spatula onto the nail to deposit the Polygel.
  5. Lightly dip the brush into the Slip Solution, then work the Polygel by pressing it from the middle towards the ends, in short strokes. It is very important to press this first layer firmly to smooth the nail well. Add a little Slip Solution if necessary. The Slip Solution will help you glide the Polygel more easily over the nail and also help you clean your spatula.
  6. Cure under the LED lamp for 30 seconds.
  7. File the sides and the tip of the nail to slightly refine the edges.
  8. File the top of the nail with a 180 grit sanding block, avoiding the stress point, using rounded movements, without pressing too hard on the nail. Polygel allows for an almost perfect application from the first attempt, significantly reducing filing time.
  9. If you have finished your nail application, apply the top it off and cure for 30 seconds.
  10. Apply Nail Surface Cleaner to the nail with a lint-free pad to clean the nail and remove residue.
  11. Apply cuticle oil and massage.

Polygel French manicure

  1. On an existing application, file the surface of the nail tip with 2 quick passes if you are using an electric file, so as to create a pronounced demarcation between the smile line and the rest of the nail. You can see this step at the 20th minute of the video.
  2. On a new application, apply the pink Polygel color without filling the smile line, simply clean the smile line with the brush and cure for 30 seconds under the UV lamp. This part is at the 45th minute of the video.
  3. Apply a very small ball of Polygel Bright White to the tip of the nail.
  4. Lightly dip the brush into the Slip Solution, then work the white Polygel by pressing it in short strokes and bringing a little white over the pinkish part at the edges to obtain a rounded smile line.
  5. Cure under the LED lamp for 60 seconds.
  6. File the sides and the tip of the nail to slightly refine the edges.
  7. File the top of the nail with a 180 grit sanding block, avoiding the stress point, using rounded movements, without pressing too hard on the nail.
  8. Apply the top it off and cure for 30 seconds.
  9. Apply Nail Surface Cleaner to the nail with a lint-free pad to clean the nail and remove residue.
