Say goodbye to cuticles!
Cuticles are the small bits of skin between the finger and the nail. When you apply polish, cuticles become more noticeable, and if you get polish on them, it’s even worse! The solution is to remove them, but not just any way. We strongly advise against cutting cuticles, as they are there to protect you from bacteria. It is better to push them back than to cut them to avoid infections and unsightly regrowth.
The cuticle pusher, an essential tool!
If you don't have this tool in your manicure kit, go buy one right away! It's an essential manicure tool, just as important as a nail file. As its name suggests, it is used to push back cuticles. The small end allows you to scrape cuticles that are a bit more stuck to the nail before pushing them back. If you have sensitive cuticles, there are rubber cuticle pushers. Pushing back your cuticles frees up the nail for polish application or nail extensions. Over time, cuticles will naturally return to their place. You can soak your nails for a few minutes in slightly warm water to soften the cuticles before pushing them back.
The pumice stone
Another very practical tool is the special pumice stone for cuticles. Sometimes, after pushing back your cuticles, there may still be dead skin on your nail, and that's where the pumice stone comes in. Lightly moisten it, then rub the dead skin. Cuticle clippers
As I mentioned in the introduction, it is not recommended to cut your cuticles. However, sometimes a damaged piece of skin may need to be cut, especially if you have the very bad habit of tearing your cuticles. For this, you have the choice between cuticle scissors and hoof-shaped cuticle clippers. In case of a cut, disinfect immediately.
Cuticle oil
After being pushed back, buffed, or even cut, your cuticles and even your nails have been stressed. To rehydrate and soften them, always finish by applying cuticle oil, then massage your nail with the oil. This will give you a beautiful finish and healthy nails. Moreover, these oils are delicately scented, making them very pleasant to apply.
