The different types of resins
Discover which type of resin is right for you!
Did you know? There are two types of resins: slow-drying resins and fast-drying resins. But what are the differences?
Fast-drying resins
Fast-drying resin is designed to dry much more quickly. If you try, for example, to pick up a ball of powder, you'll notice it will set on the brush before you even apply it to the nail.
With this type of resin, you won't be able to create effects with your powder. It will be more useful if you are only applying a solid color and manipulate the resin quickly enough.
It is also very useful for gluing your tips. In 5 seconds, your tip will be firmly in place and won't budge.
Among the fast-drying resins available at Ongles d'Or, you'll find the Elegance range and the Ongles d'Or Pro line for technicians.
Slow-drying resins
Slow-drying resin, or "boulette" resin, allows you to work on gradients, inlays, or other decorations at your own pace. You can dip it in powder to get small balls, as its name suggests, to pick up only the amount of powder needed to create gradients or even make small touch-ups.
You can also use it for solid colors and take your time to properly dust off the powder layers. Since it doesn't dry instantly, you have all the time you need to create nail art at your own pace.
UV resins
UV resin is a product used in the finishing step to create a solid and shiny layer. It is applied to the nail or nail extension and must be cured under a UV or LED lamp.
