Internet ordering and delivery (4)

Can I have my order delivered to different addresses?

Yes ! With each order you place, you can change the delivery address, but for the first order, we need to deliver to the billing address.

What are the shipping fees?

From a purchase of $ 150.00 (before taxes), you will benefit from a free transport credit of $ 10.00 applicable on the carrier of your choice. For each additional $ 20.00 purchase, you get $ 1.00 in additional transportation credit, up to the amount of free transportation. (Ex .: For an order of $ 195.00 (before taxes): the customer benefits from a basic transport credit of $ 10.00 and $ 2.00 of transport credit is added (since 2 increments of $ 20.00 additional), for a credit total free transportation of $ 12.00.)

What is the delivery time when I order by phone or Internet?

In Quebec, by Purolator: generally, you will receive your order within 1 to 2 business days. Important: someone must be on site to receive the package (delivery between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.).

Outside Quebec: the delivery time varies according to the weight of the order and the place of delivery. Important: Dangerous goods cannot be sent by air.

What are the payment methods when I order online?

I can’t remember my password, what should I do?

Before requesting a new password, check if your keyboard is in upper case mode (the identification boxes are sensitive to upper and lower case). If you are still not able to identify yourself, you can request a new temporary password. Important: only ask for one password and wait for it to be received at your email address. Use this new password (do a “copy / paste” to make sure you don’t make a transcription error) to access your account (you can choose a new password for future connections).

Do I have to be a technician to buy from Ongles d’Or?

Everyboody can order on Ongles d’Or. If you are a qualified technician, you can benefit from additional discounts. Before making your purchase on Ongles d’Or, you will need to send us a copy of your diploma. Also, some products are exclusive to technicians and the presentation of a diploma will be necessary to make the purchase.

Waxing and Aesthetics (7)

Can I do hair removal if I don’t have a certified course?

Yes and no… You cannot epilate clients if you have not taken and passed a course taught by a professional. Most clients will want a certified technician for professionalism and confidence. However, if you want to wax yourself at home, it’s up to you whether or not you took a course.

What is the difference between sugar wax (or chocolate) and warm wax?

This is the application method that differs the most: the sugar paste (or chocolate) does not apply in the same direction and does not require strips. Sugar paste wax (or chocolate) is also used for sensitive areas such as the face. Also, thanks to its ingredients, the sugar paste offers a slight exfoliation at the same time.

What are the differences between hair removal strips?

There are 3 kinds of hair removal strips: cotton tape, pelon and honeycomb tape. They are more often offered to you in bulk (in rolls). In this case, you will have to cut the strips necessary for your epilation. All bands work the same. The strips are available in several sizes depending on your preference and the region to be depilated.

What is the difference between warm wax and hot wax?

The biggest differences are in the texture of the wax and the method of application. The warm wax must be liquid if you want to get thin layers. You must use a strip to do the hair removal. Unlike warm wax, hot wax should have a more or less plastic texture when heated. The hot wax must be applied with a wooden spatula and not with a stainless steel one, since metal is a conductor. You can also use your fingers for wax application and removal. You must wear gloves or fingertips. If you are not working with your fingers, you should hem the base of the tape so that you have a good grip for removal.

Are all kinds of wax suitable for my clients?

No, it is important to check with your client if she has any allergies. If so, some waxes may not be suitable! Some waxes make the treatment feel less painful. So you can, with your knowledge, adjust the type of wax that might best suit your client’s sensitivity. N.B. by using a client file, you will have all the useful information on your client.

Do I have to have a “wax heater” to do waxing?

No, since some waxes are designed to go in the microwave. However, if it is not mentioned, it is probably that the container cannot withstand the intense heat and radiation of a microwave. In this case, you must have a device designed for this purpose to achieve proper wax heat and prevent burn accidents.

What materials do I need for waxing?

Hair removal table, Magnifying lamp, wax heater, stainless steel or wooden spatula, eyebrow tweezers, all-purpose scissors, disposable gloves (surgical type), paper sheet or roll of paper, strips (your choice …) , wax (your choice…), talcum powder, pre-depilatory aseptic products, post-depilatory products, cleaning and maintenance products (citrus cleaner).

Where are Ongles D’Or training given?

The Nail technician course is 100% online.

All our training courses are given in our head office in St-Nicolas. Some of our distributors also provide training, but the duration of training and the material taught may differ.

Is my training recognized?

Yes, when you take a training course at Ongles d´Or, you receive a certification that is recognized by the APESEQ and in all professional distribution centers.

What causes nail loosening around the cuticles?

Nail loosening can be caused by too large a deposit of product on the cuticles, by contact of the product with the skin, by contact with your fingers on the application (deposit of fatty substances) or by poor preparation of the nail. (the shine of the nail has not been completely removed).

Is it normal for my client to feel pressure on her nails after an application?

If your client is wearing tips for the first time, she may feel a little pressure. However, this pressure should not last more than 48 hours (if it is still inconvenienced after 48 hours, remove the cover). The pressure can be caused by the wrong choice of prostheses: they are too tight, too curved or too flat.

Can false nails be removed in acetone?

The use of acetone is not recommended as the vapors from this product may be harmful. In addition, acetone gives an unpleasant feeling of coldness on the hands, it dries out the fingers and makes the natural nail brittle and friable. Better to use Glue Remover, which unlike acetone is 100% safe.

Can we give a filling to a client who wears a covering of a different technique from ours?

Yes, but under certain conditions. You can fill with powder and resin on any other covering (UV gel, acrylic, etc.). However, the opposite is not advisable.

Why do nails with overlap crack?

If the covering cracks lengthwise, the choice of the tips is the cause: the tip is too small, too flat or too curved. Applying nail dryer directly to the tip can also cause it to crack (as it takes away its flexibility). If the overlap cracks widthwise, then the overlap was probably too thin (stress point).

Can we do a nail enhancement on a fungal nail?

No! Refer the client to her doctor.

UV Gel Technique (4)

My UV gel coating did not adhere to the natural nail: the application fell off and there is nothing left … What happened?

Several factors can influence the adhesion of a natural nail cover: some medications, pregnancy, very sweaty or very cold hands can cause rejection. then, you need take some precautions

Why is my UV gel coating chipping?

Either the free edge was not sealed properly (do not file too much at the end of the installation, as you risk removing this protection), or the gel was applied in too thin layers.

Why is my UV gel cover peeling or turning matt?

It may be that the nail gel is not cured enough: the time varies depending on the type of gel and the power of your UV lamp (9 Watts, 36 Watts, 54 Watts), your bulbs must be changed otherwise they lose their efficiency.

Why did my UV gels freeze in their jars?

UV gels are reactive to UV rays of light. If the jar is left open and exposed to ambient light, your UV lamp, or the sun, a crust may form on the top and it may even freeze completely.

Resin and Dip Powder Technique (9)

Can we do a covering on natural nails with the dip powder technique?

Yes, this technique is very suitable for the natural nail.

Why has my resin become filamentous and gummy?

Either your product has been corrupted (example: by a brush that has not been cleaned properly before re-dipping it in your bottle), or because you have exposed your products to hot and humid temperatures or to light (keep your resins in the refrigerator will allow you to keep them longer).

Why do my nail brushes freeze?

Resin brushes should always be wiped on your bib to remove residue before returning them to the bottle. Always wipe off the product in a separate spot on the bib. Make sure you have enough product on the brush, otherwise it may dry out. Also, avoid contacting brushes with hardener (for hardener spray, spray off the work surface).

How should I change the resin brushes?

You should soak the new brush in the brush cleaner to remove all traces of contaminants (a few minutes is enough), then replace the used brush with this brush.

Can we wash the resin and gel brushes?

Yes, by soaking them in the brush cleaner.

How prevent the caps of our bottles from freezing?

At the end of the day, always clean the neck of your bottles with nail polish remover to remove any deposits. You can also coat the neck of your bottles with a fatty substance (such as cuticle oil or petroleum jelly), taking care not to spoil your products.

Can you apply the on brush gel over a nail polish?

Yes, as long as the nail polish is designed for it.
