Step-by-Step Guide to Repairing a Broken Nail
- File the broken nail: Smooth out the surface of the nail with a file to ensure a clean base.
- Cut the silk wrap: Trim the silk wrap to the width of the nail and the desired length. It should cover the stress point or lower if the break is beneath the stress point.
- Apply resin: Use a fine-tip resin applicator to apply a thin layer of resin onto the nail, then place the silk wrap over it.
- Reinforce the stress point: Apply resin over the silk wrap, focusing on the stress point. If needed, use super flexible gel resin to strengthen this area.
- Cure under a UV lamp: Place the nail under a 36W UV lamp for 20-30 seconds.
- Apply resin over the entire nail: Cover the entire nail with another layer of resin.
- Cure again: Place the nail under the UV lamp for another 20-30 seconds.
- Shape the nail: Use an 80/100 grit file to file the hardened silk and shape the nail as desired (almond, square, etc.).
- Done! You’ve repaired your nail in just 5 minutes!
