It's springtime and to encourage the snow to melt faster, here is a video tutorial to create 3D flowers with Polygel. The Polygel has the advantage of not smelling anything, unlike acrylic, so it is more pleasant to work with. The Polygel can also be tinted with permanent French polishes, to obtain infinity colors.
Steps to make 3D flower with Polygel
- Pour a little bit of Slip solution into a jar
- Make out a small amount of white Polygel and place it on a silicone mat
- Add a drop of permanent French polish of the color of your choice and mix until the color is uniform. Do not forget that the color will become lighter by mixing it with white Polygel
- Take a little ball of Polygel and place it on the nail
- Dip your brush into the Slip solution and shape your petals
- Repeat for each petal
- Catalyze your petals under a UV or LED lamp. The normal time is 2 minutes for the UV lamp and 30 seconds for the LED lamp, but as we added nail polish, it is recommended I add a little more time, then 1 minute instead of 30 seconds for the lamp LED.
- Overlay your petals and add a little glitter to make it look better
- Always finish with a top coat.
